Dog behaviour

A dog that pulls, barks or is afraid is telling you something.

We start by understanding it, at your home and on your walks. Then we change things gently, at the pace your dog can follow.

You are probably here because…

  • he lunges at other dogs on the lead
  • she barks at every noise or visitor
  • he panics when left alone
  • she is afraid outside, of people or of traffic

Four commitments

1

Rewards, not fear

Treats, play and voice. No choke chain, no prong collar, no electric collar: a dog learns better when it is not afraid.

2

You hold the lead

I coach you, not only the dog. Each session ends with two or three exercises to practise for five minutes a day.

3

One dog, one plan

The first session is an assessment: your home, your walks, your dog's history. The plan follows from there, not from a ready-made pack.

4

Honest about the limits

Pain can change behaviour. When a problem looks medical, I ask you to see your vet first, and we work together afterwards.

What I offer

Everything starts with the assessment. The rest is decided together, depending on your dog and on the time you have.

How we will proceed

A call

Fifteen minutes on the phone, free: your dog, what goes wrong, what you would like.

The assessment

A first session at home or on a walk, about 1 h 30, to watch your dog in its own world.

The sessions

Short sessions, spaced out so you have time to practise. At home, outside, or in a group on Saturday.

The follow-up

A written summary after each session, and you can send me a message or a short video between two visits.

"Our rescue barked at every dog. No miracle promised, a clear plan instead. Six months on, we cross the park calmly."
Julien, and Rocco · Rescue dog, reactivity
"Walks with Gaïa had become a fight. Four sessions later the lead is loose and I actually enjoy going out again."
Claire, and Gaïa · Border collie, loose-lead walking
"Puppy school on Saturdays: the children come too, and Moka now comes back when she is called, even at the beach."
The Martin family, and Moka · Labrador puppy, puppy school
